Immunity Boosting Foods

As life starts to go back to normal for many of us in Qatar, boosting your immunity is becoming an important goal.
Here are a few immunity-boosting foods that you can add to your daily diet:

Citrus:

Vitamin C is usually the go-to when anyone gets a cold, as it plays a huge role in boosting our immunity., When choosing  the natural route when it comes to taking your daily dose of Vitamin C, you can reach for oranges, clementine, lemons, limes, grapefruits and tangerines.

Garlic:
You know those old tales about how garlic heals… well, they’re partially true. It actually does contain a number of immunity boosting assets, which is due to high sulfur-containing compounds that are found in garlic.

Broccoli:

There’s a reason why they’re a superfood! They are filled to the brim with mineral and vitamins, such as A, C and E. Broccoli is also a great source of fiber, and is considered an anti-oxidant. Remember: to get the most of out of broccoli, cook it as little as possible, or enjoy them raw!

Red bell peppers:

This may come as a surprise to you, but did you know that red bell peppers contain almost 3 times as much Vitamin C than oranges?

Kiwi:
One of the best immunity boosting fruits, kiwis are full of vitamins K and C, as well as folate, potassium and essential nutrients.

Spinach:
There are a lot of nutrients in this superfood as well, including, folate. This helps your body produce new cells and repairs DNA. Spinach is also a great source of fiber and antioxidants.

Ginger:

You must have heard someone say drink some ginger when you’ve got a cold? Why? Because ginger is packed with antioxidants and is a great immunity boosting plant.

Watermelon:
In addition to being a perfect snack in this heat, watermelons have plenty of glutathione, which boosts the immunity system to fight infections.

Yogurt:
What’s great about yogurt is that it includes probiotics, which help prevent and treat some illnesses, and boosts your immunity system in the process.

Sweet Potatoes:
The beta-carotene found in sweet potatoes can help boost your immunity and as an added bonus, can even improve aging!

Almonds:
So much attention is given to Vitamin C when we talk about boosting our immunity, that we almost always forget about Vitamin E. But that is also much needed for a healthy body. Almonds and other nuts are filled with Vitamin E, and are a great source of healthy fats as well.

Pomegranate Juice:

Pomegranate juice helps your body fight infections and viruses, and is a surprisingly a strong immunity boosting fruit.
