Just like every year, Qatar National Day celebrations are in full swing, with many activities already taking place across the country. Each year, nationals and expats visit the many different venues and areas across Qatar to celebrate this very special day. Take a look at some of the events taking place in celebration:
National Parade:
The National Parade is one of the most anticipated events that take place celebrating national day, which takes place on the Corniche every year. Representatives from the MOI, Emiri Guards, Lekhwiya, and Civil Defense are all expected to take part, making it one of the most exciting events of the day.
Darb Al Saai:
Considered to be the main venue for celebration, this year’s celebrations at Darb Al Sai fall under the motto “Al Maali Kaydah” which translates to “the path of excellency is difficult,” which is inspired by Qatar’s founder Sheikh Jassim. Darb Al Saai has already begun welcoming visitors, and will continue to do so until December 20th. Activities include self-defense, sports barriers, field barriers, lasers, and combat missions for children, as well as participation from other entities including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Qatar Charity, Qatar University the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, and others.
Katara Cultural Village:
Fireworks show, drone shows, operettas, Ardha performances displays of national culture and heritage are all on display at Katara in celebration of National Day, and will continue until the 19th of December. In addition, The Ministry of Defense – Armed Forces will be showcasing the very best of their armory and old military tanks, with a military parade with the army musical band also being held every day.
Fireworks:
This year, a number of areas will be putting on a fireworks show, including Katara Cultural Village, and of course, the highlight on National Day celebrations, the fireworks show at the Corniche.
Airshow:
Taking place in Aspire Park, the Corniche, Darb Al Saai and Katara Cultural Village, the exciting airshow will include a number of live shows by paragliders waving the Qatar flag, as well as spectacular displays in the air.
