Sumaysimah

Sumaysimah, also known as Simaisma, is a small coastal town located on Qatar's eastern shoreline. Situated 30 km north of the capital city Doha, this town boasts an array of historical houses and mosques remaining from its rich past before oil and natural gas were discovered in Qatar.

The official boundaries for Sumaysimah were set back in 1988. Its picturesque coastline is punctuated by clusters of mangroves adding to its unique charm. Although geographically it falls within the municipality of Al Daayen, administratively it operates under Al Khor.

Attractions and Things to Do in Simaisma

Sumaysimah, Qatar is known for a couple of attractions such as:

• Simaisma Beach: Known for its idyllic landscape, Simaisma Beach is a popular domestic tourist attraction. It is closely situated to the Al Simaisma Family Park and extends for a length of roughly 1 km. Visitors can find dozens of shaded lounging areas, and there are roughly 39 hectares of mangroves just off the coast.


• Simaisma Park: A peaceful park overlooking Simaisma Beach with kids’ play areas and plenty of green spaces.


• Simaisma A Murwab Resort: A beachfront resort offering villas and premium facilities such as swimming pools, a spa, basketball, and tennis courts, water sports, and kids’ activities. 


• Simaisma Project: A new entertainment project that was recently launched by Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality. It’s a major development aligned with Qatar’s National Development Strategy for 2024-2030. 

The innovative entertainment district will be spearheaded by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment. Spanning more than 8 million square meters, the project will serve as a new cultural landmark for Qatar.

It will feature a 7-kilometer waterfront along the eastern coast, north of Simaisma. This expansive leisure hub is poised to boost the tourism and entertainment industries, setting new standards to meet the growing demand in line with Qatar's National Vision 2030.

The projects will include luxury resorts, a marina, yacht club, a theme park, 18-hole golf course, residential villas, restaurants, and shops.
